Last night Pete, Lawrence, and I went to see Dick and Jimmy Dale at the Tractor Tavern here in Seattle. Holy crap, that was a good show! Dick may be pushing 70, but he can still play like it was 1968. Jimmy is maybe even better than his old man. It was a pretty laid back show, almost like they were just messing around having a good time with the guitars. Dick is a great showman too, real engaging with the audience, laughing and joking...This was probably the best show I saw this year, and I've been to quite a few. Both of the Dales were playing acoustic/electric guitars Dick designed for Fender, Dick has a Malibu, Jimmy plays a Kingman. They sounded great, real nice instruments, perfect for surf. Heres a few shots of Dick and Jimmy on stage, it was really cool watching them together, they have a great relationship, you really see the father/son vibe...

Heres the guitars, I'm gonna have to get one before too long...Although Mrs. DaViking feels that is not such a swell idea...
Short version is if you get a chance to see Dick and Jimmy, jump on it. You'll have a great time.
